The Willit container is Willit's own hardware innovation: cold storage, a freezer and a self-service shop in one container. The producer drops off a batch, the buyer collects with their own code — at any hour. The first container serves Oulu.
What's inside the container
The container is not just a cold room. It monitors itself, knows its users and serves both sides of the door: buyer and seller.
Smart monitoring
The container watches over itself: temperatures are logged automatically and the equipment reports its health every few minutes. Any anomaly alerts the operations team right away.
Managed entry
The door doesn't open on a plain PIN code. Access rights are granted per order and per shelf spot, every visit is logged, and the door can also be opened and locked remotely.
For buyers: the kiosk
Browse what's on the shelf on the container's screen and pay with your phone. You can buy straight off the shelf with no app and no account.
For sellers: automatic label printers
Drop off a batch and print batch and shelf labels with QR codes on the spot. Origin and traceability travel with the label.
AI customer service
The container also carries physical AI: a customer service agent that activates on demand and helps with buying, collecting or dropping off a batch.
